DEVELOPING: Top Democrats Reportedly Will Attempt To Primary U.S. Senator
Top Democrats in Pennsylvania are plotting a primary effort against Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), Axios reports.
Fetterman is up for re-election in 2028.
The report says some of the potential challengers in a Democrat primary include Reps. Brendan Boyle and Chris Deluzio and former Rep. Conor Lamb.

Axios shared more:
Boyle has been loudly critical of Fetterman on TV and social media, calling him “Trump’s favorite Democrat” and accusing him of visiting the president at Mar-a-Lago to “kiss the ring.”
Deluzio has been cultivating a national brand as a young populist leader from the Rust Belt.
Lamb has won the praise of progressives like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) for repeatedly attacking Fetterman, who beat Lamb in the 2022 Democratic primary.
When Axios began reporting on this story, Fetterman texted, “Enjoy your clickbait!”
Asked a follow-up question, Fetterman said, “Please do not contact.”
Fetterman later shared an article about a report from a conservative group showing that he is among “the least Trump-aligned Democratic lawmakers” in Pennsylvania, voting with the president 6% of the time. He highlighted that the analysis showed Boyle voting with Trump nearly 14% of the time.
“ACTUAL NUMBERS,” Fetterman said. “less clicks.”
On Wednesday, Bill O’Reilly pressed Fetterman at a NewsNation town hall event about why he still aligns with the Democrat Party.
“I follow country, then party,” Fetterman said at the event.
“It’s the wrong thing for the country, and in a period of chaos, I refuse to vote to shut our government down,” he continued.

The New York Post provided further info:
“Why are you a Democrat, though? I don’t say that to be a wise guy,” asked O’Reilly, citing Fetterman’s ardent support of Israel and opposition to “wild” spending.
“I really believe in calling balls and strikes, and I want to follow the truth,” Fetterman insisted.
O’Reilly noted that Fetterman could become an independent, but the senator dismissed that as a nonviable option.
“Those are some independent thoughts, but overall, I mean, you have to pick one side — Republican, Democrat — that’s always been my party,” the shorts-and-hoodie-wearing pol explained, having previously described his support for the Jewish state as an “isolating” experience.
Former Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) and Joe Manchin (I-WV) ditched the Democrats during their later years in the upper chamber after numerous clashes with the progressive base.
Following Fetterman’s appearance, Axios reported that a handful of top Pennsylvania Democrats are maneuvering to potentially mount a primary campaign against Fetterman when he comes up for re-election in 2028.
