Ellie and Emma are golden retriever sisters who live with Kevin and Katie Bubolz. When Emma was a puppy, Kevin thought it would be a good idea to teach her to open her crate. As a safe space, that is an admirable talent. It would allow her to access her safe space when her humans weren’t around. Unfortunately, the crate serves double duty because Ellie can’t be left without supervision. Having the puppy learn how to open the crate could prove problematic (and it did). It took Kevin exactly five seconds to realize the grave error of teaching his puppy to open her crate. Locking Ellie in the crate and leaving Emma out, he left the room. Emma wanted her sister and playmate out. As Ellie makes a break for it, you hear Kevin over the camera speaker saying, “Emerson Jade, what are you doing?” You know you’re in trouble when Dad uses your full government name! However, the admonishment didn’t faze Emma at all. She had her playmate out, and all was right in the world. In all likelihood, they staged that entire scenario for the sake of content.
