According to a Facebook post shared by the University of Virginia Police Department, the attacker was reported in the area of the Shannon Library. Police are currently at the library investigating. They are heading in the direction of the UVA Corner. UPDATE: 4:05 p.m.: The University of Virginia has released this statement concerning Monday’s situation: “At approximately 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, the University of Virginia received reports of an active shooter at Shannon Library, located at 160 McCormick Road. Buildings were locked down and safety alerts were issued to the community. No evidence of an active shooter has been located by authorities as of this writing. Members of the community should continue to follow run, hide, fight protocol until an all-clear is issued.”
