Country music artist Alexis Wilkins has been in the news a lot lately…. so who exactly is she? If the name sounds familiar, there’s a good chance you know her in one of three ways. First, the 27-year-old is a country music artist that has released songs like “Grit,” and her music typically has very patriotic messaging and is directed towards listeners on the right. Second, she’s a political commentator and former Capitol Hill press secretary (for Representative Abe Hamadeh). Don’t know her from either of those things? Well then, you likely know her name because she’s the girlfriend of FBI Director Kash Patel. View this post on Instagram We’ll get to more on that in a second. But first, let’s explore some of her country music career. Wilkins got into the music business when she moved to Nashville for college (she’s a Belmont University grad). The first big breakthrough of her music career happened to be a patriotic anthem called “Stand,” which she released in 2022 and dedicated to veterans and first responders. She then had an EP titled Grit that gained traction, especially in the politically conservative population. Wilkins also made some headlines when she revealed in an interview with Fox News Digital, that record labels were encouraging her to tone down anything that had to do with “loving America. The young artist claimed that music executives took issue with the fact that she had an American flag emoji in her social media bio, and that she’d be better off removing that, among doing other things differently, as she explained: “I was told to take an American flag out of my Instagram bio, or that I had to support certain things or do certain things in order to get booked on tours, in order to get signed to a label. There are things that ultimately have to give up, and I wasn’t willing to do that and bend the knee to that. The industry and some figureheads in the industry were just saying that me having an American flag in my bio was going to be seen as partisan. It was things that were fundamentally American and things that I wasn’t willing to compromise on.” Pretty wild, eh? Regardless of how you feel about politics, it’s pretty shocking to hear that being proud of the American flag can be seen as partisan. Obviously, things have worked out okay for Alexis Wilkins. Her music has actually been helped by the promising political commentator career that she’s seemingly been more focused on as of late. And this past summer, she joined the board at the National Rifle Association (NRA). She’s pretty accomplished for someone that hasn’t even turned 30. Then you’ve also got the high-profile relationship that she now finds herself in with FBI Director Kash Patel. The pair have been together since early 2023. Though there’s quite the age gap (18 years), Patel and Wilkins seem happy together, and are often seen supporting one another. Some online have been skeptical of the relation, and theorized that Wilkins was an Israeli spy who was trying to compromise the FBI Director. Those are baseless claims, as Wilkins was raised in Arkansas as a devout Christian. But as you know, the internet can often run wild with rumors. Another way the internet has gotten involved with Patel and Wilkins’ relationship? The FBI Director has come under fire for allegedly using his FBI jet to fly to a Real American Freestyle wrestling event on October 25 where his girlfriend, country music artist Alexis Wilkins, was performing. Following the event, the jet was tracked flying to Nashville, Tennessee – where Wilkins lives (she also spends a lot of time in Washington D.C.). Once Patel face criticism publicly, the FBI jet was made untraceable on flight tracking sights like Flight Aware. The FBI Director finally addressed all of the noise around his travel activity and alleged misuse of government funds on X (formerly Twitter), where Patel provided this statement to those that were calling out both him, and Alexis Wilkins: “I’ve always said — criticize me all you want. But going after the people doing great work, my personal life, or those around me is a total disgrace. The disgustingly baseless attacks against Alexis — a true patriot and the woman I’m proud to call my partner in life — are beyond pathetic. She is a rock-solid conservative and a country music sensation who has done more for this nation than most will in ten lifetimes. I’m so blessed she’s in my life. Attacking her isn’t just wrong — it’s cowardly and jeopardizes our safety. My love of family will always be my cornerstone, and you will never tear that down or keep me from them. I and this FBI will stay laser-focused on our mission and continue the reform we promised — rebuilding this Bureau from the ground up.” I am proud of the work of this FBI. Let me be clear: we will not be distracted by baseless rumors or… — Kash Patel (@Kash_Patel) November 2, 2025 Ben Williamson, Assistant Director for Public Affairs at the FBI, clarified a number of details regarding the flights, proving once again, why this is just another distraction in the American political system. After calling these accusations “disingenuous and dumb,” he clarified that Kash is required to fly on government planes for security reason, including secure communications, and that he pays a reimbursement in advance. Williamson’s also notes how infrequent Kash actually travels in comparison to previous FBI directors, and how much his FBI has worked to cut costs. Regardless of the noise surrounding the Director, Kash Patel seems to be very protective of his country music girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins. And while I’m sure they’d prefer to keep a lot of their lives private, that can be difficult when both parties in the relationship are high-profile individuals.
