How did they get there? Authorities in Hawaii have revealed dozens of illegal immigrants were detained during morning raids on the island of Kaua’i. In total 44 people suspected illegal immigrants were arrested two of which were connected to the foreign terrorist organization Tren de Aragua. Hawaii News Now reported more on the illegals being detained: Federal immigration agents arrested dozens of people during early morning raids on Kauaʻi, with detainees later transported to a federal detention center on Oʻahu. Authorities say six federal search warrants were executed at residences and one business on Kauaʻi. Forty-four people were arrested, including two suspected associates of the foreign terrorist organization Tren de Aragua (TdA), federal officials said. The Venezuelan gang has been targeted by the Trump administration. Kauaʻi County Council member Fern Holland said raids took place in Kapa’a, Kalaheo and Lihu’e. At 4 a.m., white law enforcement vehicles were seen outside a home on Kaʻapuni Street in Kapahi, a quiet neighborhood in Kapaʻa. Holland said she heard at least two explosions as armed immigration agents entered the home. “I could kind of hear them, like they were transcribing everything in Spanish and English. They came in really loud, basically saying like, you know, we have a federal warrant, come out with your hands up. And then that was really loud for a while before the first blast happened and they kind of brought people out in chunks,” Holland said. Kauai County councilmember Fern Holland lives right across the street from one of the homes that was targeted in an ICE raid on Wednesday morning. She said dozens of federal officers pulled up in vehicles around 4 a.m. “Very shortly after, they had a loudspeaker going, and they were basically reciting the address over and over and saying, you know, ‘Executing federal warrant, please come out with your hands up.’ That went on for a while. Then it went on in Spanish,” she said. Holland added that various agencies were involve,d and she hoped to dispel some rumors that swirled in the community. “There was no raids of restaurants, despite so many rumors that so many different restaurants, kitchens, people were dragged out of kitchens, that never happened. It does look like this operation was one large inter-agency operation,” Holland said. The raids led to 44 arrests — two of the individuals are believed to be associated with the foreign terrorist organization “Tren de Aragua” based in Venezuela.
