Windows 11 ads have come one step closer, as Microsoft has given Xbox Game Pass a prominent slot in the Windows settings menu. Ads have become an inevitability in Windows 11 that we have been tracking for some time, and while this one in the latest Dev Channel update is quite blatant, it's at least not overly obnoxious. The Microsoft OS has already played around with app promotions in a Windows 11 ads update recently, which seemed like a natural precursor to outright advertisements. This latest Windows 11 development, however, isn't just a recommendation, it's a clear advertisement, presenting the opportunity to join Microsoft's own Game Pass service at the click of a button.
