Fighter Pilot Reveals Near-Miss With ‘Rectangle’ UFO That Defied Physics

Credit: Max AfterburnerA retired US fighter pilot has shared his incredible encounter with a UFO that defied physics. Major Ryan Bodenheimer, a 13-year F-15 and F-16 veteran, described one of the “wildest experiences” of his career—a close call with a rectangular UFO over southern Wyoming during a training mission. The massive object appeared suddenly, seemingly on a collision course. “Then I realized we weren’t going to hit, and all of a sudden it came more into view, and it was a rectangular shape. This was like essentially a perfect rectangle,” Bodenheimer said. The UFO, 30 to 50 feet tall, glowed around its bright white edges as it flew near the Thunderbirds, the Air Force’s elite aerobatic team. It left no vapor trail, emitted no radar signal, and moved at 400 knots (460 mph). “It really was defying any type of aeronautical laws that I’ve learned,” he admitted. When Bodenheimer reported the sighting, air traffic control responded with “dead silence” before labeling it an “anomalous object.” The UFO flew so close at 30,000 feet that he could see every detail before it vanished. Denver controllers asked for more details, and he described a cream-colored interior that seemed transparent or had a hole. “I know it sounds like I’m talking about a delicious pastry, but this was the wildest experience I’ve ever had,” he joked. The only official record was an air traffic report noting an object in the Thunderbirds’ training area, but Bodenheimer never heard more. On his YouTube channel, Max Afterburner, he ruled out explanations like weather balloons or drones. “There was nothing that made me think this was some sort of illusion. It was clear as day. It was right down our wing line, a 30 to 50 foot object,” he said. Though not a “science fiction” fan, Bodenheimer speculated it could be extraterrestrial, matching other military pilots’ encounters that “defied physics.” “Going against aerodynamics definitely blows my mind. Anti-gravity, something that cloaks radar, I didn’t see anything on the radar,” he added. The UFO stayed perfectly vertical despite its speed, unaffected by wind. This wasn’t his only UFO encounter. Near Area 51, he saw a “lightning-fast triangle” during Thunderbirds training. “There’s been lots of crazy stuff that’s been reported out there,” he said. The object raced past his F-16 as his squadron prepared to land. “This lightning-fast triangle blitzed past me… It had basically done an interceptor maneuver, a dust-off. So maybe this was its way of having fun, saying maybe this should be Top Gun 3,” he recalled. Bodenheimer hopes his story encourages other pilots to come forward, noting 800 UFO reports in the last four years.
