Stevie Van Zandt recovering after emergency appendix surgery
Stevie Van Zandt, the actor and guitarist of the E Street Band, Bruce Springsteen's backing group, is recovering after an emergency appendix surgery in Spain. He is currently touring with the boss in Europe and revealed on social media that he felt a "sharp pain" in his stomach that at first he believed it was food poisoning, but turned out to be appendicitis.
What Stevie Van Zandt said about the surgery
"Got a sharp pain in my stomach, thought it was food poisoning, turned out to be appendicitis. Got lucky with an exceptional hospital in San Sebastian. Operation was a complete success and I'm hoping to get back on stage for at least one of the shows in Milan. Thank you all for all the good vibes. See you soon," Stevie Van Zandt said.
As the musician said, he won't be part of a few concerts but intends to get back on stage for at least one of the shows in Milan, Italy, that will happen next June 30 and July 3.
Van Zandt was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts back in 1950 and started his musical career in 1968. He achieved fame as a member of The E Street Band, group that was crucial for Bruce Springsteen's success. He also has a prolific solo career with seven records released. The most recent one being "Summer of Sorcery" in 2019. Van Zandt is also a famous actor, best known for his role in The Sopranos TV series, which is considered one of the greatest of all time.
