Danes climbed a giant mosque – and demanded repatriation

Foreign. Danish nationalists carried out a spectacular action at the Imam Ali Mosque in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, on Friday. They climbed onto the building, lit smoke bombs and unfurled a banner with the message “Remigration.”

Behind the action is the Danish group Generation Identitär, which describes it as an expression of civil disobedience.
They deny that violence or vandalism occurred and state that the purpose was to protest against Islamization and advocate return migration.
The Imam Ali Mosque has long been controversial in Denmark, including for its alleged links to the Iranian regime. According to Generation Identitär, the mosque has “been the subject of attention from both authorities and the media,” and the group refers to previous revelations of links to mosques in Germany and Sweden that have been accused of espionage and terrorist sympathies.

Several Danish politicians have called for the closure of the Nørrebro mosque over the past year, citing national security concerns. Even before the Swedish revelations in February this year, a Danish Social Democrat argued in a debate article that the mosque should be closed.
