Foreign. The showdowns among the cream of the Ukrainian leadership continue. Now the country's former Nazi speaker Andriy Parubiy – one of the leaders behind the Maidan protests that led to Volodymyr Zelenskyy's inauguration – has been murdered, reports Dagens Nyheter.
At noon on Saturday, Parubiy, who is now a member of parliament, was murdered with a gun in Lviv.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the telegram of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the telegram of the National Police of Ukraine and sources in law enforcement agencies.
"Communication failure" led Zelensky to shoot his own peace negotiator.
Parubiy was most recently the head of Ukraine's National Security Council and served as the speaker of parliament until 2019.
During the political unrest in Kiev in 2013–14, Parubiy acted as the "security commander" and coordinator of the paramilitary groups fighting the government.
Zelensky's assassination squad "executes traitors"
He had a background in the Social-National Party of Ukraine, something that became evident in 2018 when, as the country's speaker, he stated the following in a statement:
– Hitler was the greatest democrat in history.
According to Morning Star, the statement led to demands for resignation from the country's Communist Party, but Andrij Parubij remained in office until 2019.
In DN's obituary , journalist and activist Juan Flores completely omits the fact that Parubiy was a Nazi. Instead, he is described as a former member of the "European Solidarity Party" and it is mentioned that in Ukraine he is considered "a constant defender of the Ukrainian state system". And that's the end of the obituary.
