Kid Rock Banned… In California
California governor, Gavin Newsom (pictured above), announced (on 9/20) that Kid Rock, an ardent Trump supporter, can no longer play shows in the state.
“Because of his horrific music, California will indefinitely suspend Kid Rock from performing in the Golden State. You’re welcome! – GCN.” The message was all in CAPs – seemingly referencing Trump’s typing style in posts.
The governor’s decree has been seen as a response to the situation surrounding the indefinite suspension of late-night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! television show last week.

Kimmel has been humorously, highly critical of the president
Federal Communications Commission chairman Brendan Carr had threatened action against ABC and its parent company Disney over comments Kimmel made in an opening monologue on September 15th referencing the murder of far-right speaker Charlie Kirk and speculation on what motivated the gunman by the President and the “MAGA gang’. Within hours, ABC folded and indefinitely suspended Kimmel’s show.
“Great News for America,” Trump posted at the time.
Newsom has a history of taking satirical jabs at Trump, his administration and supporters. Last month, the governor took to X saying that he “hated” Kid Rock. Later, in his mocking Trump mode, Newsom asked if “anyone noticed that since I said ‘I hate Kid Rock’ he’s no longer ‘hot’.” He was echoing a past statement Trump had made regarding Taylor Swift.
