This site is very fast becoming a missing persons and religious site. Fast becoming a copy of GAB.

Free expression is a sticky wicket. We can't claim to be "Free Speech" friendly, and then tell people to refrain from posting. If we start controlling that, we will be no better than fakebook, twitter, google, etc. We want this to be a setup where people can filter their content and there are ways to do that. In our early stages, we have set the default on members news feeds to be "All Posts" in order for there to be content for new members, but that can be changed very easily by the user to "People I Follow" which will make the feed only show posts from friends, liked pages, and joined groups. There is an announcement that displays regularly on top of the feed that addresses this. We may end up changing the default to the later for just such reasons as you cite, though. You can also block people whose posts annoy you, offend you, or that post too much stuff you're not interested in. As to a 'copy" of GAB... they WISH they had the features we are about to unleash. Our news, video, and audio, features are going to blow away anything they can dream of, and content creators will be able to monetize their content here easier and faster than anywhere else. We already have had inquiries from outlets and creators waiting for these features to be fully in place, so you can expect some really great stuff to be coming. We are still in our infancy, and already ahead of many of the others on features... their heads are going to spin when we have everything in place, with the target timeline to be before the midterm campaigning goes into full swing.

I have already thought of asking people to put certain content into groups they can then promote, but, after thinking on it that would just be another form of controlling content. That sticky wicket.
