Formed in Arlington, Texas, in 1981 by brothers Darrell Abbott and Vinnie Paul Abbott, along with bassist Rex Brown and vocalist Terry Glaze, the band began their journey as a glam metal act inspired by the dominant sounds of the early 1980s. Those early years, spent playing clubs throughout Texas and self-releasing albums on their own Metal Magic label, helped the group build an underground following while sharpening their sound and stage presence.
