The first authorized biopic of Bruce Springsteen’s life — “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere” — chronicles his personal and professional struggles during the conception of his 1982 album “Nebraska.” The film, starring Jeremy Allen White (pictured above) as The Boss, had its world premiere at the 52nd Telluride Film Festival in August and received positive reviews from critics. The film opens in 1981 with Springsteen on stage in Cincinnati finishing up the last night of a yearlong tour of sold-out arenas across the United States and Europe. His most recent album at the time, “The River” (1980), had sold millions of copies and topped the Billboard album chart on the strength of his first Top-10 single, “Hungry Heart.” Deliver Me From Nowhere Trailer The anti-commercial “Nebraska” was made before “Born In The U.S.A.” turned Springsteen into a global superstar. Scott Cooper, the film’s director and screenwriter, shows the “Nebraska,” creative process as the album is recorded on a rudimentary four-track cassette machine in a rented house in Colts Neck, New Jersey.
