The Royal Mint has unveiled a U.K. coin to celebrate Queen’s Freddie Mercury — whose four-octave range and showmanship defined generations. The collectible coin captures Mercury mid-performance with his signature inscribed alongside his portrait. Mercury’s sister, Kashmira Bulsara, commented: “Freddie would have been absolutely delighted to see himself honored in this way.” The Royal Mint has also created collectible coins honoring Mercury David Bowie, George Michael and Paul McCartney.
