Shaping the Narrative: How Media Bias Influences News Coverage
In April of 2025, AllSides conducted a large-scale analysis of topics that appear in news media
outlets across the political spectrum. This analysis examined which issues are most frequently
reported, revealing potential story choice bias—a form of media bias that occurs when media
outlets choose to cover stories that align with their political ideology. In doing so, we can gain a
deeper understanding of the overall bias in coverage across various media outlets.
