Domestic. A teacher in Malmö has been fired after threatening, mocked and vulnerable children with intellectual disabilities for what is described as attempted demon expulsion with the help of the Quran. The events were filmed and spread on social media. Now the police are investigating the matter itself – Malmö municipality ignored to report the woman.

It was after an anonymous tip that the city of Malmö learned about the films.

On the clips you can see the teacher, wearing the Malmö city’s name badge, when she says that students are obsessed with the devil and reads Quranic verses in order to make them “healthy”.

Reportedly, the children have also been threatened with violence, reports Sydsvenskan.

When the teacher was first confronted with the material, she admitted that she read from the Quran for pupils to be "cured" and that threats had occurred. Later, she claimed instead that the films were AI-generated, something that according to Malmö city IT specialist is not correct.

Following Sydsvenskan’s disclosure, the police have now launched an investigation – despite the fact that the municipality itself has not made a police report.

– The notification is initially classified as illegal threats and abusive photography, but it may change. We have drawn up a report based on the information shown in Sydsvenskan,” says police press spokesperson Nils Norling to Sydsvenskan.

In one of the filmed clips, recorded inside the school, the teacher is heard expressing a direct threat to a student.

"I told him that if you do it, so again I'll break your head.

The case has provoked strong political reactions in Malmö. School councillor Sara Wettergren (L) says she did not know the extent of the teacher's actions before she took note of the information in the media and welcomes the police now investigating the incidents. At the same time, opposition politicians have strongly criticized the fact that the municipality did not itself sound the alarm to the judiciary.
