Green Day/Counting Crows To Play Pre-Super Bowl Bash
While Bad Bunny is slated to play the Super Bowl halftime two bands with Bay Area roots — Green Day and Counting Crowes — will team up for a special concert on San Francisco’s Pier 29 on the Embarcadero. It’s part of an invite-only concert, sponsored by FanDuel and Spotify, on February 6th, two days before the Super Bowl in nearby Santa Clara.
Green Day formed in Rodeo, CA in 1987 and were part of the late 1980s/early 1990s Bay Area Punk scene that emerged from 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley.
Green Day has sold roughly 75 million records worldwide making them one of the highest-selling artists of all time. The group has been nominated for 20 Grammy awards and has won five.

Counting Crows
Adam Duritz and producer/guitarist David Bryson formed Counting Crows in San Francisco in 1991. The band cut their teeth in Bay Area coffeehouses and clubs.
Late last year, HBO Max released “Counting Crows: Have You Seen Me Lately?” a feature-length documentary that focused on the band’s rise to fame after the release of “August And Everything After” and the making of “Recovering the Satellites.”
The event marks the third year the gaming company and streaming service are teaming up for a Super Bowl Party celebrating music, community, and the spirit of the Bay Area.
