“Lion’s Share Cash Demand” Sinks Poison Tour
Hair Metal’s Poison: Big news in the 1980s but the early 90’s Grunge killed that.
Known for the songs “I Won’t Forget You,” “I Want Action,” and “Talk Dirty To Me,” “Nothin’ But A Good Time,” “Fallen Angel” and the chart-topping power ballad “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”, Poison made their mark. There was even a cover of Loggins & Messina’s “Your Mama Don’t Dance” and Poison’s best single “Unskinny Bop.”
Poison’s recent big pay came as a supporting act on Mötley Crüe/Def Leppard joint “Stadium Tour.” So why not do a Poison tour? Great idea, especially since the band’s 40th anniversary is on the horizon.
What an opportunity! Concert promoters are on board. The band is onboard… or are they?
Poison drummer Rikki Rockett (pictured above) recently claimed they have given up on the tour because singer Bret Michaels wants the ‘lion’s share’ of the cash. “‘We had a great offer, I thought. But we left the table. It didn’t work.:”
According to Rockett, Micheals revenue demand made “it not possible to even do it. You just can’t work that way.”
