LEADER • That a state rewards massive law violations while starting to chase words, algorithms and thoughts, shows a massive system shift away from freedom and common sense. Europe should not tolerate this for a single second.

Spain has lost its mind completely. With one hand, 500 000 illegal immigrants are legalized in one of Europe’s largest amnesties in modern times. The second builds a repressive control system aimed at opinions, platforms and information flows. The result is a country that gives up the rule of law but clings to power with the help of immigrants from the third world.

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is now presenting a policy that should worry every European. Social platforms managements shall be held personally criminally liable for what users do and write. Algorithmic “reinforcement” of illegal content is to become a new crime – despite the fact that the line between illegal, controversial and politically inconvenient is fluid and in practice is determined by power.
