A rescued cat came to a shelter with every obstacle stacked against her. She refused to let them dim her joy. Kate, a foster volunteer with the rescue, stepped up without hesitation and brought Laundromat home.What Kate did not yet know was that Laundromat was carrying more than anyone had realized. A visit to a specialist soon after revealed she had cancer, requiring surgery to give her the best possible chance at a healthy future. She greeted Kate every single day with the same bright, affectionate energy, following her from room to room, demanding pets, and inserting herself into whatever was happening. She bounced back almost immediately, returning to her usual antics as if nothing had happened at all. "Laundromat has already proven that she is stronger than anyone could have imagined," Kate shared. She had opinions about where to nap, enthusiasm for every meal, and a gift for making everyone around her feel like the luckiest person in the room. "After everything she has endured over the past few months, she continues to bounce back to her normal silly, affectionate self almost immediately," Kate shared. Kate has been by her side through every step of it, and the two of them have built the kind of bond that only comes from going through something hard together and coming out the other side.
