in 2015 a buddy holly impersonator Johnny Rogers called me to drum for an emergency fill in gig at a local party...so I agreed...we played buddy holly tunes for the event and was a great hit. Turned out johnny rogers was an international act and was gifted most of buddy hollys personal stage gear from his original band mates for keeping the music alive in original form. that night johnny let me wear buddy hollys original stage glasses he wore that night he died...it was a great honor to wear them..they were frail cheap plastic frames and had a dull sheen in the lenses from age...he kept them with him everywhere he went..buddys band mates all died now the last passing away in 2017...Johnny rogers was told t never let the music die so as a promise to them he keeps touring buddy holly music
world wide to this day..
