"The Memphis Police Department (MPD) launched a homicide investigation after the baby's body was found on the 4000 block of Raleigh-LaGrange Road on Sunday, March 6.
An MPD spokesperson said in a Monday Facebook post: "Officers located a deceased newborn, wrapped in a towel, placed in a bag, on the side of the road.
"The baby appeared to be full term. Investigators are asking for anyone with information to please come forward."
