I enjoyed my time with the original Helldivers years ago. Featuring an engaging top-down twin stick shooter gameplay experience‚ I loved the strategic (and incredibly lethal) approach to a game in the style and tone of 1997's Starship Troopers. I didn't quite obsess over Helldivers or anything‚ but I loved it as an action-packed co-op experience to play with my friend and share a few laughs. Now‚ almost nine years later‚ Helldivers 2 has released‚ and it's more than a simple refinement of the first game's mechanics — it's almost an entirely different game.
