The Commission proposes new legislation to "attract skills and talent" from the third world and make them settle in the EU.

In particular, they are investing in "talents from North Africa", according to the responsible commissioner Maros Sefcovic. Morocco and Egypt are first out in that region.

"Legal immigration is of positive significance because it offers immigrants an opportunity to improve their lives," the Commission added in its proposal.

Immigration from the Arab world also offers highly skilled labor, such as truck drivers, who can be used in EU countries and enrich their economies, according to the Commission.

"To recover from covid, our economies really need new workers in the tourism and hospitality industry, IT, healthcare and logistics," it added.

In fact, the world is heading into a recession where high inflation and higher interest rates will reduce the need for labor. But the European Commission believes that nothing can stop the plans for an increased number of Arabs.
