Staff at a nursing home in Nordmaling in Ångermanland are suspected of recurring abuse of the elderly. According to Nordmaling's social director, Andreas Witt, this includes sexual matters. The perpetrator is also suspected of embezzling and stealing money from both users and Nordmaling municipality.

In May, SR reported that thefts had been discovered from one of the residents, from mid-February to early April. The discovery was made when other personnel performed a control bill. SVT now reports that the suspect must also have subjected the residents to sexual abuse.

The boss made no report
During the Lex-Sarah investigation, not only has the suspect been fired, the boss has also been suspended. This is due to incorrect handling of the case.

- The manager has taken measures and handled the personnel matter, however, Lex-Sarah has not reported, and this must be done according to the Social Services Act, says social manager Andreas Witt.

Witt does not want to reveal how many of the residents were affected. According to SVT, the municipality has not yet made a police report.
