"Shortly after 5:20 p.m., Lorain police attempted to serve a felenous assault warrant at a home in the 1200 block of West 20th Street. When the man would not come out of the house, police entered with a police dog. The man was located in the basement, and he then repeatedly stabbed the dog. A Lorain police officer then shot the man to death.
The police dog was taken to an animal clinic for surgery.
The man’s name was not immediately released.
Officers involved were placed on paid administrative leave, per department policy"
