Woman detained for rape together with aunt

A 19-year-old woman and her 25-year-old aunt were arrested on Wednesday for a gang rape in the Stockholm suburb of Rissne last weekend. This is evident from documents from the Solna district court.

The detention proceedings were held on Wednesday afternoon when the district court decided whether the two women should be detained for aggravated rape or not. The court ruled that both women should be detained on suspicion of aggravated rape. They both deny any wrongdoing.

Rape indoors
The gross rape is suspected to have been committed indoors on the night of Sunday, in an apartment building in the Stockholm suburb of Rissne. In addition to the women now in custody, five more people are suspected in the case.

The older of the women, the 25-year-old, is already known to the police. She is convicted of theft and money laundering, among other things.

The younger of the women, the 19-year-old, is previously unpunished. The 25-year-old woman is the younger sister of the 19-year-old woman's mother.

The detained women were both born in Sweden, but children of migrants who came to Sweden from Iraq during the 90s.
