The staff in a department at a home for the elderly in Tranås municipality is so incompetent that all work has been called off. The protection representative believes that the staff, which mainly consists of substitutes, is both untrained and ignorant. During Friday, a so-called protective stop was announced. However, the CEO of the responsible care company claims that it is all just a misunderstanding.

SVT has previously reported on Råsvägen's nursing home in Tranås, which at the beginning of the year, during one and the same month, was reported to the Inspectorate for Care and Care (Ivo) a total of 13 times. The reports concerned, among other things, users in need of palliative care, insufficient staffing and coercion and restraint.

The accommodation is run by A&O Ansvar och sorgh, which according to its own statement and in contrast to the rain of complaints about malpractices, aims "to convey warmth, concern and security to everyone who is in need of care and care".

Despite the many reports, there is no change, according to several employees interviewed by Tranås Tidning . Sakarias Mårdh, CEO of A&O Responsibility and care, claims, however, that the information that the department has been closed is not true.

The CEO denies wrongdoing
In the newspaper , he breaks down and instead claims that "a mistake" made it "seem like" that the heavily criticized nursing home would have received a protective order against it. However, an employee confirms to the newspaper that the department was closed due to protective measures for several hours on Friday.

Mårdh has claimed earlier this week that his company has still not received any information about serious misconduct on Råsvägen. He also claims that the staff made a mistake in reporting to Ivo and says that they should instead report any misconduct internally.

- The concepts have probably been mixed up a bit, he says.

In addition to his role as chief executive in the company that runs Råsvägen's nursing home, Sakarias Mårdh is chairman of IFK Norrköping. Mårdh took over as chairman at the same time as his healthcare company was under review by prosecutors for work environment violations during the corona pandemic, according to Aftonbladet
