After the visionOS 2.0 announcement, Apple has now revealed iOS 18, iPhone's upcoming operating system update. With iOS 18, Apple added a big Home Screen redesign, where you can arrange apps the way you want, add specific colors for your apps, or add a dark mode. It's possible to resize widgets, reorganize them, and more. Lock Screen widgets: Apple will finally let you choose other widgets than Camera and Flashlight Action Button: Users can choose a Control Center widget Lock App: Apple will let users lock apps with Face ID; it's possible to lock searches, notifications, and more Hide an app: There's a new hidden App Library fold where you can put some apps and lock them behind Face ID For Messages on iOS 18, Apple has several new features, such as: Image source: Apple Inc Tapbacks: Tapbacks have been remade, and you can now react with any emoji or sticker Scheduling messages: You can now schedule messages to send later Customize Messages: Add italic, underline, or strike to your messages Text effects: There are new effects that you can use for your messages, highlighting specific parts of the message and more iMessage via Satellite: You can send iMessage through Satellite when you don't have an LTE/5G connection RCS: Apple says RCS Messaging Support is coming later this year For Mail, Apple is focusing on a major iOS 18 change: On-device categorization: Offers different categories to sort your mail. Apple is also adding new features for Apple Maps, Wallet, and more: Turn-by-turn voice guidance for Apple Maps Tap to Cash: A quick and private way to share Apple Cash by holding two phones together Journal update: Insights under Journal, searches to find entries, and the ability to log your state of mind. iOS 18 is also adding a new Game Mode so users can focus on the gaming experience. For Photos, Apple is adding its biggest redesign ever. Collections: Apple is adding a new Collections mode so you can have new collages for your day.
