Usually known for their high quality, Toyota has run into problems. The Japanese company's new bZ4X electric car has developed into a headache that can't seem to be cured.
It was three months ago that they discovered the serious fault where the wheel bolts can loosen and cause the wheels to fall off while driving. The electric car was banned from driving and owners were asked to park their cars immediately. Three months later, there is still no solution and around the world thousands of Toyota bZ4X are standing still.

In Sweden, only a few copies have made it to dealers and none have been delivered to those who ordered the electric car.
Toyota Sweden confirms that no solution is in sight.
- There is no new information available at the moment, says PR manager Christian Hallin to Carup .
Three known cases
In the rest of the world, 2,700 electric cars have been delivered, and in the United States, two out of 232 sold have lost wheels. One case has also occurred in Taiwan. Although Toyota has been able to reproduce the error in tests, there is no solution.
“The bolts can come loose due to repeated sharp turns and sudden braking. Therefore, if you continue to drive in that condition, abnormal noise will be generated and in the worst case, the tires may fall off," Toyota has stated to owners.
Loan car with free petrol
Buyers of the Toyota bZ4X in the US have received letters from Toyota offering to sell their electric car back to Toyota, alternatively get a loaner car with the gas paid for until a solution is found.

The sister model Subaru Solterra is also affected, but no copies of that model have been delivered.
