"FOND DU LAC – A 26-year-old Fond du Lac police officer died Wednesday from complications of COVID-19 one day after his second child was born, according to the police chief.
The Fond du Lac Police Department issued a new statement Thursday that said "all evidence indicates" Officer Joseph Kurer contracted COVID-19 while on the job, so his passing is being treated as a line-of-duty death. The department has not said whether Kurer was vaccinated."
