“The Thicket,” a “dark western thriller,” will be released in theaters on Friday, September 6th. Metallica’s James Hetfield is pictured above in costume. It will be Hetfield’s third feature film credit, The first two were “The Darwin Awards,” with Metalica as themselves and “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile” where Hetfield played Bob Howard, the sheriff who was the first to arrest serial killer Ted Bundy. Hetfield has also appeared in two Metallica documentaries and a concert film. In “The Thicket,” Peter Dinklage plays Shorty (type casting?), a bounty hunter enlisted to find a woman who has been kidnapped by a killer. Set at the turn of the 20th century, Shorty and his fellow trackers travel into a violent place in West Texas known as the Big Thicket.
