Spiritbox was formed in 2016 in Victoria, British Columbia. The band was founded by former members of the metalcore band Iwrestledabearonce, Courtney LaPlante and her husband, guitarist Mike Stringer. Spiritbox quickly gained attention in the metal scene for their innovative blend of metalcore, progressive metal, and djent elements.
