DOMESTIC. If Russia were to attack the Baltics, NATO will let Sweden move out first. This is stated by Major General Karlis Neretnieks for Aftonbladet.

- We are the closest, says Karlis Neretnieks to Aftonbladet.

The major general states that it is much faster to ship over units from Sweden than from Great Britain or the United States.

- As little as one or two brigades can be the tip of the iceberg, waiting for other allies to get resources there, says Karlis Neretnieks.

The armed forces must now draw up a plan to be able to protect the Baltics in the event of a war against Russia. Material is proposed to be stored in the Baltics to avoid dangerous sea transport after fighting breaks out.

Sweden is also to create a new light brigade with so-called expeditionary capability that should be able to easily cross the Baltic Sea.
