Norwegian ferry giant bans electric cars on board

FOREIGN. Havila Krystruten, one of two companies serving the coastal cities of Bergen and Kierkenes, has announced that it will no longer accept electric or hybrid cars on board its ferries following the results of an external investigation.

The company mainly carries passengers and freight on the route, but now claims that only private vehicles with internal combustion engines will be accepted on board.

Havila Krystruten refers to fire safety as the main reason for the decision.
