Old-Fashioned Peanut Butter Pie
Old-Fashioned Peanut Butter Pie is a cool and creamy no-bake dessert with lots of salty/sweet peanut butter flavor. It’s a light and refreshing pie for summer, but I love it anytime of year.
If you love peanut butter desserts as much as I do, you should also try my Peanut Butter Bundt Cake, Peanut Butter Sheet Cake, and Peanut Butter Brownies.
Ingredients Needed
Creamy Peanut Butter– I use either Jif or Skippy. I don’t recommend using an all-natural peanut butter for this recipe.
Cream Cheese– use full-fat for best flavor and be sure to fully soften it.
Powdered Sugar
Heavy Cream– use cold heavy cream.
Cream of Tartar– helps stabilize the heavy cream.
Pie Crust– use either a store-bought or homemade pie crust.
Cool Whip and Chopped Peanuts – optional for garnish.
How To Make Old-Fashioned Peanut Butter Pie
Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar together in a large bowl. Use either a hand-held electric mixer or a stand mixer.
In a separate bowl with clean beaters beat the heavy cream and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold whipped cream mixture into peanut butter mixture
Transfer filling to pie crust. Refrigerate at least 2 hours.
Make Ahead and Storage
You will want to make this pie at least 2 hours in advance so it has time to chill and set up. Once made it can be kept in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 days.
Recipe Suggestions
Instead of using a homemade or refrigerated pie crust, you can use a graham cracker crust or an oreo pie crust.
You can sub 3 cups of Cool Whip for the heavy cream and cream of tartar.
More Awesome Desserts
No-Bake Nutella Pie– tons of chocolate hazelnut flavor.
No-Bake Peanut Butter Cup Pie– similar to this pie but with Reese’s peanut butter cups.
Orange Creamsicle Pie– a great summer pie in a graham cracker crust.
