DOMESTIC. According to P1 Dokumentär , arms smugglers in Gothenburg have received requests to buy military weapons from wartime Ukraine for further sale to criminals in Sweden.

He fears that it may be more powerful weapons than criminals in Sweden have had access to so far, and that any type of weapon may come back from Ukraine.

Nils Duquet, international arms smuggling expert at the Flemish Peace Research Institute in Brussels, emphasizes that the European countries need to be prepared for the arms smuggling that can follow in the wake of the war and that weapons can end up in the criminal world.

- I understand why Western countries send these weapons to Ukraine. A country has the right to defend itself. However, we need to be prepared for what comes afterwards, says Nils Duquet to Sveriges Radio.
