FOREIGN. Former US President Donald Trump warns that a third world war is on the way and warns of the consequences if it breaks out. In a longer speech in the US yesterday, he sounded like a sort of reverse version of Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

In a nearly two-hour speech at the conservative CPAC conference, Trump accuses current President Joe Biden of fueling the war in Ukraine and leading the United States straight into the abyss.

Trump is calling on Congress to stop funding the constant warfare around the world, and he says that the Republican Party used to be run by "globalists and open borders fanatics", which he believes has changed and does not want to go back to.

- High priority is to stop the financing of costly and endless wars. We can't continue to spend hundreds of billions of dollars to protect people who don't even like us," Trump said.

He promises to quickly resolve the peace in Ukraine if he wins the election.

- I will stop the catastrophic war between Russia and Ukraine before I set foot in the Oval Office, he says.
