Lately a lot of people have asked what does it take to be a hippie, a very hard question to put into words because it was such a mindset for all of us that grew up in the '60s and '70s borderline 80s. Putting it in the modern terms it was anti-conservative and establishment, it was understanding and love for your brothers and sisters no matter of color or creed, it was anti-war and bringing our brothers home from Vietnam, understanding people for what they were like it or not. The music captivated us the drugs, not for all but were a part of it, the protests were important but the violence was not... A far cry from today, understanding and acceptance for people that disagree with you, but staying true... that defines a "Hippie"...
