Zelenskyy: Blow up Hungary's oil pipeline
Published 5/14/2023
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed blowing up a Russian pipeline that runs through Ukraine and supplies Hungary with oil. This is to destroy pro-Russian Viktor Orbán's industry. This is claimed by the Washington Post, which has received secret intelligence information.

Earlier this spring, hundreds of documents containing classified intelligence information from the United States were disseminated after the so-called Discord leak. The Washington Post has obtained even more documents that were not previously published.

It appears from the intelligence information that in a meeting with Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny in February of this year, Zelenskyi is said to have proposed more air attacks against Russian border towns with the help of drones. Such attacks have previously been carried out against the Russian cities of Saratov and Rostov, which the BBC and Yahoo drew attention to.

Another proposal from Zelenskyi is said to have been to enter Russia with troops and occupy border towns. This is to have leverage in negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In another meeting with Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, Zelenskyi is said to have suggested blowing up the Russian pipeline Druzhba that runs through Ukraine and supplies Hungary with oil. According to the intelligence documents, Zelenskyy does not have much left for Hungary's pro-Russian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

"Zelensky stressed that Ukraine should just blow up the oil pipeline and destroy Viktor Orbán 's industry, which is heavily dependent on Russian oil".

Attacks in Syria
Another proposal the president discussed was for Ukraine to conduct covert operations against Russian forces in Syria. According to the intelligence, which the Washington Post has published, Ukraine is said to have considered secretly asking the Kurds for help to enter and access Russian forces.

Zelenskyi: "Fantasy"
The Washington Post has asked Zelenskyi about the proposals and he dismissed the information as "fantasy". But at the same time stated that he reserves the right to explore several different military options.

- When so many people have died and mass graves have been found and our people have been tortured, I am sure that we must use all tricks, Zelenskyy said and continued:

- This war is about the occupation of Ukraine. Ukraine must win.

The Washington Post has shown the intelligence to high-ranking Pentagon officials who did not question the authenticity of the documents.
