DOMESTIC. Almost a year has passed since a woman from Central America - still with an unknown identity - was found dead in a wooded area in Kungsängen. Now the prosecutor is offering temporary residence permits to illegal immigrants who can provide information about who she is.
Despite extensive investigative measures, the woman's identity is still unknown. The police therefore want tips from the public to move forward in the case.
The woman was found next to E18 at the height of Kungsängen in northern Stockholm on June 20, 2022, and a preliminary investigation into murder was initiated.
After analysis, the police know that the woman was born around 1966, plus or minus a few years, and has lived her first years in Central America. She lived her last 1.5 years in northern Europe. The woman was 155 cm tall and weighed between 70 and 75 kg.
The police now want help with information about the woman's identity and are keen to get in touch with people who can help the investigation further.
Anyone who is in Sweden illegally and has information about the woman's identity or what happened to her is now offered by the prosecutor the opportunity to obtain a temporary residence permit via the Migration Agency while the investigation is ongoing.
"The application is valid for six months at a time in connection with a preliminary investigation regarding a serious crime," the police write on their website.
