Most people surport Ukraine and its people, but hate the money whore Zelenskyy and his friends who seems to hate Ukraine and its people

More and more Western Europeans are tired of the support for Ukraine

A growing number of people in Western Europe want to stop sending money and weapons to Ukraine, and instead try to negotiate peace. This is evident from a recent Yougov survey.

It is the British The Guardian that draws attention to the Yougov survey, which was carried out in Sweden, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Spain, France and Italy between December 3 and 18 this year.

In all seven countries, fewer and fewer people believe in continued support for Ukraine until Russia withdraws.

Swedes most eager for war
The Slava Ukraini spirit is, as usual, strongest in Sweden. Here, 50 percent want to continue support for Ukraine until Putin is defeated, compared to 24 percent who would rather negotiate.

However, support among Swedes for the Ukrainian cause is decreasing. In February last year, as much as 63 percent of Swedes wanted to continue sending money and weapons, while only 18 percent wanted to negotiate.

At the other end of the scale is Italy. Only 15 percent of Italians want to continue supporting Ukraine, while 55 percent instead want the parties to sit down at the negotiating table and end the war. This even if the negotiations mean that Russia retains control over parts of Ukraine.

In countries like Germany and Spain, there are now almost twice as many people who want to negotiate instead of sending more and more weapons. At the beginning of 2023, instead, a majority in these two countries wanted to continue the support.

The support is not enough
In several of the countries, opposition to the multibillion-dollar roll towards the front has accelerated in 2024. However, it is unclear exactly what this is due to.

In all the countries surveyed, a majority of the respondents answered that Ukraine does not receive enough support from the Western powers to be able to win against Russia. At the same time, it is only in two countries, Sweden and Great Britain, that there are more respondents who want to increase support than there are who want to reduce it.

35 percent of Germans and 39 percent of Italians want aid to Ukraine reduced or stopped. In the same countries, 21 and 11 percent respectively want to increase support instead.

Ukraine can give up land
The Guardian also states that in Sweden, Germany and France, there is an unchanged proportion who want Ukraine to win, despite the decreasing willingness to support the country.

Sweden (57%), Denmark (53%) and Great Britain (51%) are the three countries where a majority of respondents say it would feel negative if Ukraine were forced to accept Russian control over parts of Ukraine.

In France and Germany, those shares are instead 37 and 31 percent, respectively.
