VIDEO: Several shot at school – large police operation
On Tuesday, the police launched an extensive operation in Örebro. Initially, they were silent about what was considered a suspected serious violent crime and a threat of deadly violence. Later in the afternoon, the police held a press conference.

It was at 12:30 that the police were called to a location at Risbergska School in Västhaga. The school consists of municipal adult education and SFI.

According to information provided to Nerikes Allehanda , there were gunshots and the public is urged to stay away.

– We have an extremely large number of resources, says Sophia Jiglind, press spokesperson for the Bergslagen police region, to the newspaper.

Five injured
According to the police, five people were shot. The extent of the injuries is unknown. The charges are currently being investigated as attempted murder, arson and aggravated weapons offenses.

In addition to the police, ambulance and rescue services have also been sent to the scene at the school. The students have been accommodated at the adjacent Entréskolan.

– There are threats of deadly violence. It is life-threatening if you are nearby, says Sophia Jiglind.

Multiple shots
Other witnesses say they heard several shots. Cartridges have been found in the area and the suspected perpetrator is said to have fired with an automatic weapon.

The task force is on site and there are also reports that police have been shot at. However, no police have been injured by gunfire.

At 2:12 p.m., the police announced that the danger was still not over and that the public must stay away.

There are also reports that the perpetrator shot himself.
