AMD Ryzen gaming CPU sales dominate Intel at this store, but there’s a catch
AMD Ryzen gaming CPU sales accounted for 92% of all CPUs sold by one German retailer, leaving Intel with just under 8% of its CPU sales, according to a new report. This utter dominance by AMD would appear to be reflective of the lead the company has established in gaming performance compared to Intel's latest processors.
In our AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D review, we declared it the single best gaming CPU by a considerable margin, and sure enough it's this chip that leads the charge for AMD's sales. However, the company's Zen 5 CPUs in general are still outselling Intel at this store, painting the picture of a near monopoly in the minds of PC buyers looking to upgrade their CPU and motherboard. However, a few factors make the true picture less clear.
