Ken Burns is a filmmaker who produces films for PBS and other “public broadcasting” companies. He recently stated that removing Federal funds from the Corporation of Public Broadcasting will create “news deserts.” Basically, he thinks rural Americans are all hillbillies who have no access to the internet or television. It’s 2025. Most of us not only have great access like Starlink, but there are local companies who carry it too. It’s the satellite age, Ken. We don’t need the Pony Express to get our news anymore unless there’s an Indian uprising, of course.
Here’s Ken Burns on those “rural Americans” who won’t survive without PBS:
Filmmaker @KenBurns discusses why the Trump administration killed the Corporation for Public Broadcasting with @JohnAvlon: “It’ll hurt mostly rural communities — maybe that’s their intention. There’ll be news deserts.” pic.twitter.com/gKoulzPF7e

This idiot is so out of touch with reality that his thought process is nonexistent. As in Zip, Zilch, Nada. Some of us in rural America actually have college degrees. (I know, shock).
Ken Burns’ statement was royally trashed by X users.
Such a shame, that guys makes great documentaries but he suffers from TDS.

Rural communities have the internet.
This soft bigotry of assuming they all live in huts in the woods with rabbit ears as their only access to media is stupid. https://t.co/cEIoCNSuK8

Go look at an electoral map of any state—entire rural areas are all red. They know they have access to internet, satellite tv, other news outlets. They’re just mad that these people reliably vote GOP and don’t give a shit about PBS. That’s all this is. https://t.co/yAt3NjwEQi

David Burge had the best sarcasm of all:
I grew up in a small rural community, and I distinctly remember back in ’73 how shocked all the grownups were to turn on PBS and learn about World War II for the first time https://t.co/j2jg6Rr0sS

All in all, Ken Burns is the epitome of TDS stupidity. Democrats literally think Rural Americans are stupid. They believe it- just listen to Jasmine Crockett who thinks all rural Americans are White Supremacists and she doesn’t “feel safe.” Ken Burns has no clue that we’re not interested in PBS, NPR or any other leftist trash, and Crockett who is scared spitless of everyone with white skin. After we hitch up our wagons and make sure the Indians aren’t coming, we should help them. Or not.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett: “I do not feel safe as a black woman in this country”
