Star Trek kicks off its 60th anniversary year in 2026, and the landmark sci-fi franchise is wasting no time in celebrating — on January 1, 2026, Star Trek stars George Takei (Star Trek: The Original Series), Rebecca Romijn (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds), Tig Notaro (Star Trek: Discovery) and Karim Diané, who will star in the upcoming Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, will all appear on a float at the 2026 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.
The float, which is called Star Trek 60 “Space for Everybody,” pays tribute to the franchise’s many shows, and will depict the U.S.S. Enterprise rising above planets that have been featured through the years.
Takei played Sulu, a scientist and the U.S.S. Enterprise’s pilot, from 1966 to 1969 on the original series, reprising the role in the first six Star Trek feature films. Notaro played Commander Jett Reno through several seasons of Star Trek: Discovery, and will appear in the upcoming Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. Romijn has played USS Enterprise first officer Una Chin-Riley on Star Trek: Discovery and currently portrays her on Star Trek: Brave New Worlds. YouTube and X Factor singer Karim Diané will be making his Star Trek franchise debut with Starfleet Academy; he was previously seen on the 2021 teen thriller One of Us is Lying.

Takei previously appeared in the Rose Parade in 1992, on a float celebrating Star Trek: Voyager. This will be the first time appearing in the parade for the rest of the group.
