US Seizes Venezuelan Oil Tanker: Cue the Dem Outrage

A Venezuelan oil tanker transporting around 1.1 million gallons of sanctioned oil bound for Iran was seized by the US in the Caribbean.

The United States seized a Venezuelan oil tanker in the Caribbean. Dems immediately started whining about “piracy.” The problem with that complaint is that a Federal judge signed a seizure warrant on the tanker because it had been on the radar as transporting sanctioned oil for several years.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said a joint operation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations and the United States Coast Guard, with support from the Department of War, executed a seizure warrant for a crude oil tanker that was allegedly being used to transport sanctioned oil from Venezuela and Iran.

“For multiple years, the oil tanker has been sanctioned by the United States due to its involvement in an illicit oil shipping network supporting foreign terrorist organizations,” she said on X. “This seizure, completed off the coast of Venezuela, was conducted safely and securely—and our investigation alongside the Department of Homeland Security to prevent the transport of sanctioned oil continues.”Fox

To the moron Democrats who can’t bring themselves to see why we blow up drug boats and didn’t blow up a massive oil tanker: because blowing up a tanker with that much oil would create an environmental disaster in the ocean of major proportions. Seizure is the only alternative.

“Well Mark, the Oil tanker is big, and would likely ruin the ocean for a few days- plus we can use the oil.

Drug boats only make little splash, and leave a small mess- plus it’s only filled with drugs.” @RealJasonNelson

The illicit “shipping network” is among Venezuela, Iran, and China. The Venezuelan and Iranian crude oil is often sent to China. This shipment of 1.1 million gallons of oil was worth at least $66 million, according to an expert on X and was bound for Cuba. It was part of the network of illicit sanctioned oil.

The seizure of the Venezuelan oil tanker was an important part of the administration’s pressure on the Maduro regime. It had been sanctioned in previous administrations, but no one actually did anything. Finally, we have a President who acts.
