Democrats Are Bringing Epstein Survivors to SOTU. But Why Weren't They Invited to Biden's Speeches?

Democrats bring Epstein survivors to Trump's State of the Union, sparking controversy over Biden's past speeches.

Make no mistake about it: Jeffrey Epstein was a very bad man. The sex offending financier pled guilty to procuring a child for prostitution in 2008, and was awaiting his federal sex trafficking trial when he died in 2019 by what authorities have concluded was suicide.

Meanwhile, the voices of his victims must be heard and honored. They can’t get justice now, but they can tell their stories and hopefully find some closure.

While the above is true, it still feels like the plans by several Democrats to bring survivors to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech Tuesday night reek of a stunt. Joe Biden was president for four long (torturous) years, and his Department of Justice made no effort to release the Epstein files. Rest assured, if there had been anything damaging about Trump in there, they would have leaked it to The New York Times faster than you can read this sentence.

After never once inviting these women to any of Joe Biden’s speeches, they suddenly find it urgent in an apparent effort to troll Trump. (No, I don’t believe they’re doing it because they actually care about these victims.)

But now suddenly it's oh so important to them:

Over a dozen House Democrats have invited survivors of Jeffrey Epstein to be their guests at President Donald Trump's State of the Union address Tuesday night.

They include Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., one of the authors of the Epstein Transparency Act, the law that has resulted in the release of millions of files related to the politically connected financier.

Khanna said in a statement he's bringing Haley Robson, who has said Epstein trafficked her starting when she was 16, as his guest to the address to a joint session of Congress.

It’s not Trump who’s come out looking bad after the release:

Other Dem lawmakers bringing Epstein victims include the Usual Divisive Suspects: Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08), Rep. Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), and Rep. Jamie Raskin (MD-08).

Many Democrats aren’t even bothering to attend, instead heading off to the very Marxist-sounding “People’s State of the Union” on the National Mall. Meanwhile, Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN-05), whose state is bedeviled by rampant Somali fraud and whose amazing and sudden financial success is under scrutiny, will bring constituents who weren’t happy with the ICE raids. Cry harder.
