500,000 Men Die in War, Women and Children Most Affected

War is hard on everyone, and the family members of soldiers who die or are injured are victims of the carnage as well.

But, c'mon, man, there is a point beyond which the focus on women's suffering over men's gets ridiculous. If a man dies or gets his limbs blown off, I think it is fair to say that he got the raw end of the deal.

Not according to the United Nations, or for that matter, most people on the left.

I have always believed that the wives and children of soldiers deserve recognition for the sacrifices they, too, make in the service of their country. But the whinging about how every social ill affects women and children the most is just a symptom of how little the current elite devalues men and treats them as disposable.

If you look up "white male firefighters," you will find countless stories about how the profession is too white and too male, and even more about programs to change that. If that means that the new firefighters are incapable of doing the job, that is a small price to pay for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

If you look at the statistics, there is always a focus on the pay gap between men and women without really noting that men are more likely to be in risky jobs and die. Men commit suicide at three times the rate of women, but nobody seems to care about that.

If the reverse were true, there would be a nationwide "conversation" about the problem and a focus on closing the gap.

But no, men are disposable.

Do men count in society? Not very much. And young men are getting the message loud and clear.

It is so tiresome to be subjected to the constant browbeating of men, and extremely destructive. Men and women each contribute to society--we were created as complementary creatures who each bring something to the table. '

Societies that prioritize men over women are sick, but the same holds true for those that prioritize feminine qualities over masculine ones.

God made us different, but of equal worth, and there is nothing wrong with rebalancing social roles as society changes.

But the modern West's obsession with the plight of women and denigration of men is killing men and killing society. We punish men for being masculine, and in doing so, make things worse for everyone.

It has to stop. It is leading to the suicide of the West.
